accidents
it's been the life of accidents. prone.


i've stayed up till like 2 am at greg's house like 3 consecutive nights (tues, wed, thurs) playing pes5.


the main reason i kept coming back was that i just had to succeed in beating his brazil with argentina. it was difficult cuz he just needed a simple through pass and a finish to score (even though he was using a joystick). in the end after 2 nights i had beaten him only twice, while he won/drew like 10 times.




hella good game, if only he's com won't keep crashing.

the 2nd reason would be playing battlefield 2, which is just such a wonderful game. of course the down side is that you need such a powerful graphics card.

damn. i need a new game.


yesterday was our much awaited cycling trip. cycled along the coastal road to reach changi bumboat terminal from nsc. tiring stuff, kinda strains the back. victoria was having a crash course on how to bike, and the first order of the day was cycling straight with potholes on one side and trucks, lorries speeding past on the other. fun.

pulau ubin was ok lah.


i guess the only fun part was getting caught in the downpour like 1k from reaching back to nsc. so i entered the canteen absolutely drenched head to toe to see gandhi, justin and shu yan staring at me.

and i decided it wasn't the best time to bring back sailing stuff. will have to come back on monday after dental.

on another note:

changes to the sailing scene - cai wants to move on. maxi's going to study in melbourne. while siobhan is sailing radial. <- former byte champ.

while greg has dipped his feet into the sea water after like, what, 5 months?

on wednesday morning (730) i'll be going with the team to brisbane (mooloolaba, anyone?). not sure we'll get to use internet, so i guess this'll be the start of a hiatus... (not like i post very often anyway).

and as of now i'm holding 8 months' worth of receipts in my hand. heh.

my cousin scored 195 in his psle. good cuz then he's going to barker instead of my school - no need to see him asking me to kick a ball around for him or smth (or ask me to play maple story lol).

haven't touched my jukebox for a while. meanwhile i met these two girls at suntec who helped me to giftwrap some stuff. they're both going to watch dream theater too, haha.

parents out
parents have been out of the country since friday, hurrah.

staying at some gaylord palm resort in orlando florida. seriously.

so i have had no transport to and from the sailing club for the 3 days. which is even worse considering that saf changi is not in the most convenient of places. thx to victoria, elliot and ambrose for the rides.

as cai has said,

downwind has been wicked sick. haha...


highlights:
fri: passage race. pulling back a huge lead to beat sail no. 1 at the end.

fendi getting reprimanded by management for leaping of the 'cliff' into the pool.

sea games dinner. meeting the team again, watching pictures/videos of the sailing and of people being dunked.

melcolm's not replying... when's our treat man?

sat: realising i had registered under the wrong sail number. so i got a dns lol.

crossing our sea games champion in the full rig on the upwind in our only race.

letting kwong ming sail the radial going back to shore. if i'm not wrong hes going in to the squad soon.

sun: waking up at 910 when i was supposed to meet victoria at the bus stop at 9. sorry! took my own sweet time to eat breakfast and prepare my stuff before waiting like 20 min for a cab on the main road. in the end there was no point since i got there just in time to see ap go up.

so, no wind the whole day, play cards until sian, watch bball until sian, eat/freeload until sian, finally the best thing we did was lie down in the aircon comfort of the library.


*on a side note.

watching golf gives you excitement
1 second out of every hour.
how enriching.
and later that day i saw 3 sports channels showing golf.
just amazing, don't you think?

umm, other than that.

the lack of handphone prizes, the pictures, maxi talking cock about cai being a girl cuz hes sailing radial, elaine running up on to stage with her shirt the wrong way round,

nothing much happened.

we sail back to nsc on tues.

going to meet the sea games team

things have happened oh so quickly.

like i've told some people,
i've spent smth like 7 out of the last 9 days at nsc.

time passes.

fri, sat and sunday was taken up racing (3 days of getting up at 7am). wind coming from the west (wierd angle) on the first two days, then south on the last. felt at ease with the windshifts - it felt so natural to me. current was pushing like crazy.

incidents of note:

1st race: had to retire due to rig malfunction. rigged up the boat from scratch on water.

2nd race: 45 minute long 1st upwind, problems seeing the mark. race was shortened to one triangle - finishing line was slightly screwed, with the mark being set to windward of the com boat. so i lost to jun hao (i was first coming in to finish) because i had gone the wrong side of the com boat. and i wasn't the only one. slightly pissed off for that one.

3rd race: jun hao actually crashed into the side of my stern in a starboard port situation. i let him off after a while, and he eventually let me win to call it even after the incident in the 2nd race.

4th race: rounded the com boat at the start. while everyone went right, elizabeth banged left (further offshore) and came out well in front... haha though we eventually caught her.

5th race: had trouble getting up to the line for the start. marked by the sudden appearance of fishermen, most memorably on the last upwind mark. this fisherman's net had caught on the mark and was also trailing to leeward about 10m. caused trouble, especially when jun hao was caught port side of it, and had to cross it to get to the starboard layline, losing a few positions.

6th race: wind from south on the final day. light wind (which i don't like) and i rounded first mark deep, but caught windshifts on the 2nd upwind to catch jun hao and finish 2nd behind alvin hong.

7th race: start was everything, almost one port tack up to the mark. lead from start to finish. jun hao was deep but banged left corner on the 2nd upwind to catch up.

8th race: wind was up. i hung on for 3rd, alvin winning again.

yesterday we packed the boats into the container for transportation to australia. my ssf boat was really hanged from the ceiling in some ingenious manner. dumped badminton rackets, ball and all in as well, haha.

thx to jeanette's mom for the 2nd nasi lemak i had in two days.

and when i got home, my maid had nasi lemak for lunch! argh. she was kind enough to get me smth else.

mark patterson finally replied. i will have to decide on the package, and hopefully seal the deal.



realised i had calvin and shu yan's numbers mixed. some humourous conflicts there.

on a separate note, i remember pple like julius and russell complaining about how she's a tell tale and a backstabber and what not. but i think she's one of the nicest pple i've ever met.

going to meet her and some other pple at tampines later today. deciding between dota with calvin or gym... well i've had too much time on the pc so i'm going down to nsc again. i want to repair the sail anyway.

after that we're all going to changi airport to welcome the sea games team back... and prepare for our treat! haha.
